A December Weekend at home...food and free time

A couple of weekends ago, the weather was cold and rainy and we had very little going on in the way of busy-ness. Yes, there are always things to get done around the house but sometimes it's a nice feeling to just be...home.
So, we enjoyed some warm food.
And some down time.
And...that's all.

Friday night's dinner:
Browned pork chops cooked over onions in the slow cooker with apples, brown sugar, lemon juice and raisins.

Some Saturday activities:
computer time.
James on his vtech preschool computer from last Christmas which he is just starting to get into.

Bethany on the giant laptop, building her own super hero.
I am pretty sure JC had something to do with this.
Saturday night's dinner:
Homemade whole wheat pizza crust topped with barbecue sauce, broiled chicken, pineapple and crisp turkey bacon.

Mmm...it was all so comfy and toasty.
Which is how winter should be spent.

We are so blessed to have a wonderful home where we are safe, protected, and free to do as we please. I hope I never take it for granted.
And I hope I don't go too long before allowing another weekend like that one!
