September 2011

Yes, for lack of a more creative side to me right now, this post is simply...September.
You see, I thought to myself that I needed to get caught up on my blogging.
Because it has been an awfully long time.
And I thought to myself that maybe I should really just skip over anything that has gone on since I last wrote and start fresh.
But since the primary reason I do this is to document our doings and to have something that the kids can look back on and get a peek into our lives at any given point...I thought it might be a sad thing to have no fall/winter/spring of 2011/2012.
So I am doing it.
But it might not be pretty.

Then again...it probably will be because my children's faces will be all over it. Because you know how I am with my pictures.
Though...
If you must know...
I've gotten kind of bad about taking very many pictures anymore...
....
I know...
Who am I, anymore???

BUT, all is well, all is well...it just turns out that as the kids get a little older, and you can do more fun things with them...there is less opportunity to take pictures of them.  Because...well, you're busy having fun with them. Not to say there still isn't plenty.

And, by the way, blogger is totally different than when I last posted. It is throwing me for a big fat loop.  But we will all adjust, won't we?

K, so, onto the actual month of September! The greatest hits! At least the ones that got captured!

I felt like I should document this one family home evening that we had - - it was the traditional "Big Rocks" lesson. Who knows what I'm talking about?  You know...big rocks.  Do the most important things first and everything fits much better?  Big rocks.
We used actual rocks from our backyard and also some chocolate rocks that Grandma brought us from her vacation. :)

Favorite past time has not changed...playing in the rain!

And whether it was rain play, basketball, bike riding, or yard work, we spent a lot of time outside while we had nice, cool, fall weather!

Complete with smoothies!

Oh yeah, and the sidewalk chalk/water combination is still a big hit!

More rain pictures...remember how I said blogger is different? Still figuring it out...pictures may be out of order occasionally haha.
But I love the rainy pictures, wherever they fall!

Bethany was happy to keep her training wheels, thank you very much.
Just needed her seat adjusted. She's getting tall is all.

Random basketball picture.

Random...Ben picture?

And my child hanging out in the street. Awesome.

A sweet afternoon rest time...oh, and since you have seen us last, these have pretty much gone by the wayside. Haha

Still loving on Scout though.

A fun time for James during September was when he got to bring home the kindergarten class mascot of sorts...Maurice the sock monkey.

At some point during the month, Ben fell asleep on our bed during the day. And I thought it was cute. So I am including it.

We kept the family home evenings going pretty well over the fall.  It was a nice thing to look forward to every week.  And the kids started taking turns conducting.  I made a little white board list to fill in with who is doing what.  It will do for now until I do something cute and crafty that will qualify me as a real Mormon Mom. ;)

Though it is all a bit of a blur at this point, September was a great month...I remember that it took us (me) a while to adjust to the school year...so funny how every little change requires its awkward time period...this one lasted a while but we plugged ahead and I cannot believe that as I type this we are in the last couple of months before EVERY SINGLE ONE of my kids is in school.  I can't even wrap my head around that.  But, that's okay because, if we go by the blog...it's only September. And I have time to prepare myself!
Back soon for October. :)
Oh, and who likes my total mom-like blog setup? Cardigan? Check.
