Our Olympics

It's that season once more...time for the Olympics!
Let's take a look at what everyone is anxiously tuning in for...

A fiercely competitive effort in the Being-Dragged-Around-the-Kitchen-By-Your-Younger-Brother-On-a-Parachute-While-Wearing-a-Toy-Box-That-You've-Poked-Your-Torso-Through.
James is our leading competitor.

In the balloon division...
Pairs Inflating.
and Rocket Launching.
Here we have the warm-ups:

and here, we see the athletes preparing for the more advanced course.
(By the way, this really is the most fun activity. JC came up with this whole string-straw-balloon thing and we shot many a balloon across our entry way this evening.)

One area that has drawn the most interest this year is the new sport of Blanket Swinging.
It seems the key is getting a tight wrap...

a good lift off...

and maintaining proper form during execution.

All of our athletes work long, hard hours in order to perform to the best of their ability in this difficult event.

One of the events that always holds the most followers is that of the Nap-Anywhere.
I must say, again, James takes the gold.

In Tickling, Daddy's scores are always off the charts.

In Giggling, Bethany is untouchable.

We've also got Random-Shelter-Building-and-Hiding,

Costume-changing,

Clearly Ben's sport.

and the best event of them all...
The Cleaning Game.
(When the kids help me clean a room, we turn over a card...which I've usually put together the night before...on which there is an activity we all get to then do together. Everyone started feeling sick halfway through this day...so, we danced, played in the balls, ate a few dark chocolate chips - - yum - - then...collapsed.)

Stay tuned for full coverage this year from the family that brings you...um...way more coverage than you probably can keep up with. :)

Okay the pictures of James are my FAVORITE...the one of him with his head coming out the swinging blanket, and then the "nap anywhere" picture. Too funny.

Today's word: Cogra. Cross-breed of a cougar and a....cobra. It's a mythological sort of thing.

Yeah, I am not sure that I will ever get my hubby to agree on a puppy either!! hehe But his favorite is a Pug, so maybe ONE day I will just surprise him and the boys!

I personally think your Olympics are WAY more fun looking than the "real" winter Olympics. I love the nap anywhere competition... I think I'd do fairly well in that event.

Also, thank you for all of your kind words on our blog. These past few months have definitely been rough, but I've had a lot of support from some wonderful people :)
